Welcome to the Pride of Holdenville!

Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome back to school!! I am excited about this new school year and all the opportunities that we will have as a band program at Holdenville Public Schools. I sincerely look forward to getting to know each of my students and will make every effort to make myself available. I am more than willing to do whatever it takes to ensure the success of each student. So don't be afraid, students and parents alike, to come to me with any/all of your questions, comments, and needs.

This instrumental music handbook will provide you with the policies and procedures for all instrumental ensembles at HHS. I ask that you carefully go through the information in this handbook and take it home to share with your parents. The very last page is a consent form stating that you have read and understood everything contained in the handbook.  Please bring this form back signed by both you and your parents.

I have included a calendar of performances with the understanding that the nature of the universe is chaotic and things tend to change. I will inform you of changes as they happen as soon as possible.  Please mark these dates on your home or family calendar so you will not forget them.  If you are employed or are planning to work during the school year, make sure that your supervisor is aware of your performance obligations.  It has been my experience that employers who hire students are very cooperative when it comes to school-related obligations.  Most managers will alter work schedules if the student gives him/her enough advanced notice!

If an individual member is not at a performance, it has a negative effect on the entire ensemble.  Each one of you has chosen to be a part of the ensemble and with that choice comes the responsibility of respect and consideration to yourself, your director, and your fellow band members.

I am looking forward to an excellent year of growing, music, and fun!!
